After being docked 10 points and following their home defeat to Taunton town on Tuesday, Torquay United are left 17th in the National League South.
The National League South have docked 10 points from Torquay United following them falling into administration after the club was put up for sale by it's previous owner.
League rules say intending to appoint administrators is seen as an insolvency event, liable to a 10-point penalty. This now puts them 17th in the League facing the threat of relegation meaning Torquay would drop into the Southern League for the first time since 1927.
The club is actively seeking a new owner, and this will be a huge blow to everyone trying to keep the club afloat, or talking seriously about taking it on. It is not clear if Clarke Osborne understood a points deduction would follow if he signalled his intention to put the club into administration, but the former chairman still owns the club and his actions in doing so have now resulted in exactly that.
