Leslie Retallick, 73, from Torquay, has been sentenced to six years and nine months at Exeter Crown Court for non-recent child sexual abuse, including indecent assault, indecency with a child, and sexual assault.
A man has been jailed for six years and nine months after pleading to non-recent sexual abuse of a child.
Leslie Retallick, 73, from Queensway in Torquay, appeared at Exeter Crown Court for sentence on Monday 14 October following convictions for indecent assault, three counts of indecency with a child and sexual assault.
During the proceedings, the court heard how the offences took place between 1999 and 2008 and involved Retallick encouraging a boy to view pornography.
Retallick then sexually abused the boy, insisting on secrecy to prevent any trouble.
The abuse continued for many years and Retallick progressed to taking the boy on trips away where the exposure to pornography continued.
The abuse eventually stopped when the victim moved away, and the extent of Retallick’s criminality came to light later when he was found to have downloaded child abuse material.
Investigating officer DC Jake Woodbridge said: “Leslie Retallick is a sexual predator who for many years preyed on and abused a young boy.
“We are glad justice has finally been done and he is now serving time in prison for his crimes.
“I would like to thank the victim for supporting this prosecution and we will continue to investigate all reports of child sexual abuse, whether the abuse took place recently or in decades gone by.”
