Further delays for historic Pavilion

Earlier this year Torbay Council said that an agreement had been reached with Marina Developments Ltd (MDL) - the tenants of the Pavilion.

The agreement was about MDL surrendering the lease back to the Council so they could progress plans with restoring the Pavilion. The Council had agreed with MDL that this would happen on 30 September 2024.

At the very end of September the Council needed to consider very carefully some proposed changes to the agreement to ensure that they were in the best interest of the bay and the restoration of the Pavilion.

The Council have now agreed terms with MDL, however they cannot complete the surrender of the lease as MDL are reliant on a third party. The Council are continuing to press for completion as soon as possible and, as soon as they have any news to share, they will share.
