Affordable parking and Community improvements for Teignmouth

Teignmouth Town Council is pleased to promote the new, more affordable parking permit scheme designed to offer greater convenience and savings for its residents.

The revamped permit now covers a full 24-hour period, instead of being restricted to either day or night, and is available for just £520 per year. This change presents a savings opportunity of £80 for those who previously held separate daytime and night time permits.

The permits, which are available on a first-come, first-served basis, can be used at any of the three car parks located at Bitton House and although they are in high demand, they currently still have permits available. Remarkably, the prices have not increased since 2019, reinforcing their commitment to keeping Teignmouth accessible and affordable.

Permit holders who currently possess both a daytime and night time permit will be given priority when renewing to the new combined all-day version, ensuring they benefit from the £80 savings and to purchase a permit, please visit the following link: Purchase Permit.

In addition to the updated permit scheme, TTC has also made significant strides in enhancing community safety and beautification. With funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), the council has purchased two deployable CCTV cameras, which will be strategically positioned to enhance the safety of public spaces. They can also be swiftly redeployed at the request of the police, ensuring a rapid response to emerging needs.

Furthermore, the council is excited to announce plans to replace the decorative lighting on the seafront. This initiative aims to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the area, making it an even more inviting destination for residents and tourists alike.

Teignmouth Town Council remains committed to improving the quality of life for its residents and visitors through thoughtful, community-focused initiatives and we’d like to thank the community for their ongoing support and look forward to continued improvements and collaborations.
