In local football on Saturday in the Southern League One South Exmouth Town were narrowly beaten 1-0 at league champions AFC Totton. A 17th minute penalty for the host was all that separated the two sides at the end with Town putting up an excellent performance in front of over 1700 spectators and have now secured their place in the league for another season.
In the Peninsula League East Honiton Town played out a 1 all draw with North Devon side Torrington FC at the Memorial Ground but Cullompton Rangers had a comfortable 4-1 victory at Dartmouth Utd and Axminster Town beat Newton Abbot Spurs 2-1 away, while Teignmouth FC were beaten 1-0 at west devon side Holsworthy FC.
In the A&S Devon League there was just one local result with Topsham Town causing a surprise with a 4-2 win over league champions Beer Albion at the Coronation Ground.
In the Devon and Exeter League Premier Division Colyton beat visiting Clyst Valley 5-3 at the Peace Memorial Ground while in the First Division Lympstone Utd lost by 3 goals to 0 to Newtown Reserves at the Marine Camp and East Budleigh went down 2-1 at Newton St Cyres and Upottery lost by the same score at Winkleigh.
In Division 7 Otterton beat Exeter side Priory 3 goals to 2 at Heavitree Sports Club and finally Ex Don's beat Tedburn St Mary Second Eleven 1-0 at the Commons Ground in the Eighth Division.
