In rugby Exmouth Cockles fixture at Brixham was called off early with the pitch at Anstey Park being waterlogged and in Regional Two Sidmouths game at Wellington was also cancelled but Crediton moved up to second place with a comfortable 31-5 victory over Newton Abbot at Exhibition Road but Teignmouth narrowly lost at Wadebridge Camels by 15 points to 13.
In the Counties One Western West Topsham remain second after a 51-27 victory over visitors Penryn at the Bonfire Field but league leaders Cullompton were given a home walkover win over Plymstock Albion Oaks and Tivertons game against Bude was postponed due to the weather.
In Counties Two Devon just one local game survived with Withycombe gaining a narrow 10-7 win over visiting Brixham Crusaders at Raleigh.
In football most of our local fixtures were cancelled or postponed but excellent work by the ground staff meant Exmouth Towns game with Larkhall Athletic was able to go ahead but the result did not match their efforts as they were beaten by 3 goals to 0 at Southern Road.
In the Peninsula League East all fixtures were cancelled but in the A&S Devon league leaders Beer Albion had an easy home victory over Budleigh Salterton by 4 goals to 1 while Ottery St Mary lost 5-1 to Appledore at Washbrook Meadow.
In the Devon and Exeter leagues there were no games played in either the Premier or First Divisions but in Division 2 Exmouth Spartans lost 3-2 at Cranbrook and in Division 7 Exmouth Rovers were held to a 1 all draw by visitors Seaton Second Eleven at the Commons Ground.
