Last seasons runners up Crediton also got off to a good start with a win over cornish side Truro by 37- 24 at Exhibition Road and Teignmouth beat near neighbours Newton Abbot 34-10 at Rackerhays and our other Regional Two side Sidmouth had a narrow 27-24 victory at North Petherton.
In Counties One Western West our only local side Tiverton lost in Cornwall to Penryn going down narrowly 24-19 while in Counties 2 Devon Withycombe had a well deserved victory over North Tawton at Taw Green by 36-10 but Honiton lost at home to Devonport Services at Allhallows 31-24 and Exeter Saracens were beaten 13 -7 by Exmouth Quins at the Exhibition Ground.
Finally in Division 3 North & East Tiverton Quins narrowly beat visitors New Cross 27- 24 at Bolham Road and Sidmouth Quins hammered Torrington 49-12 at the Blackmore Field.
