In the first round of the Devon Cup, Exmouth completely overran previously unbeaten Sidmouth by 62 points to 7 at the Blackmore Field and Withycombe were given a walkover victory over OPMs who could not raise a side while in a close fought game at the Bonfire Field Topsham beat visiting Tiverton by 28 pts to 19.
On Saturday there were just two league games involving local sides with Honiton beating Devonport Services Second Fifteen by 35-26.
In the Counties Devon 2 Division at Allhallows and Tiverton Seconds beat visiting counterparts Okehampton 26-17 at Bolham Road in Division 3 East.
