A full round up of this weekends local rugby action
In local rugby on Saturday in the Regional one south west division after last weeks home defeat at the hands of Launceston Exmouth Cockels bounced back with a convincing victory over in form Brixham by 34 points to 23 at Imperial road and move up to 5th place in the table.
In Regional two there were several close games with league leaders Sidmouth having a single point win over visiting Wadebridge Camels by 21-20 at the Blackmore field and Teignmouth beating Cornishmen Truro 18-17 at Bitton park with second placed Crediton just keeping the pressure up at the top with a 15-12 victory at Cullompton s Stafford Park Topsham however found it much easier with a thumping 54-3 win Wellington at the Bonfire field.
In Counties one western west Tiverton s in proved form continued with a 23-13 victory over Pirates Amateurs away while in Counties two Devon Withycombe had a closer than expected win over bottom club Ivybridge vandal's by 19 points to 14 at Raleigh Park, Honiton overcame a spirited North Tawton 29-14 at Taw Green but Exeter Saracens narrowly lost 21-20 in Plymouth to O P Ms .
Finally in Counties three Devon north and east Exeter Athletic comfortably beat visiting Newton Abbot Quins 31-12 at Oil Mill lane and New Cross had a thumping 67-7 victory over Cullompton seconds at Meadowcroft.
