In rugby Exmouth Cockles was just one of the only two games to survive in the Regional One South West and they kept in touch for most of the game but were eventually beaten by 44 points to 24 at league leaders Camborne.

Back in Exmouth, Withycombe had a comfortable 24-6 victory over bottom club North Tawton at Raleigh Park and Topsham eventually overcame a stubborn Kingsbridge side winning by 36 points to 24 at the Bonfire Field.

Exeter Saracens had narrow 8-7 home victory over Barnstaple Second Fifteen but Honiton lost in a high scoring game at Ivybridge Second Fifteen going down by 40 points to 36 at Cross Hands. 

Local football faired even worse with Exmouth Towns home game against Hamworthy Utd being called off mid morning and in the Peninsula League East only one game survived with Cullompton Rangers gaining a 3-1 deserved away victory over Plymouth Marjons.

In the A & S Devon League the only game played resulted in a 3-1 victory for Budleigh Salterton against Feniton at Greenway Lane.

Finally in the Devon and Exeter League Dawlish Utd lost 1-0 to visiting Lyme Regis, Exmouth Spartan's were beaten 4-3 at St Martin's and in Divison 8 Ex Don's surprisingly lost 3-2 to Hemyock Second Eleven at the Commons Ground.
