In local football on Saturday in the Southern League One South Exmouth Town remain second after a 1-0 victory at Westbury Utd with a single goal early on in the first half from the ever reliable Tom Bath and can now look forward with confidence to their home game on Wednesday night with Willand Rovers.
In the Peninsula League East new leaders Sidmouth Town convincingly beat Plymouth side Elburton Villa 3-0 at Manstone Lane, Okehampton Argyle remain third after easily beat beating next to bottom Axminster Town 4-1 at Simmons Park, Crediton Utd played out a 1 all draw with Bovey Tracey at Lords Meadow as did Cullompton Rangers against Honiton Town at Speeds Meadow but Teignmouth FC won 2-1 at somerset side Bishops Lydeard.
In the A&S Devon League Beer Albion lost 4-1 at home to second placed Plymouth Marjons but league leaders Alphington FC beat Elmore Utd 3-1 at Horsdon park, Ottery St Mary won 2-1 against visiting Ipplepen Athletic at Washbrook Meadow, Topsham Town drew 2 all with Thorverton FC at the Coronation Ground but Budleigh Salterton lost 2-0 to Newtown at Station Road.
In the Devon and Exeter Premier League Upottery drew 1 all with Lyme Regis at Glebe Park and Colyton also drew by 3 goals each at West Devon side Winkleigh FC.
In the EDS Cup East Budleigh were knocked out by Exeter University Second Eleven 2-1 at the Recreation Ground while in Division One Lympstone Utd lost 1-0 at West Devon side Hatherleigh FC.
In Division 2 Exmouth Spartans won 2-0 against Clyst Valley Second Eleven at the Commons Ground but Seaton Town were hammered 11-1 by visitors Tedburn St Mary at Colyford Road while in Ddivision 3 Tipton St John had a good 3-1 victory at Chard Town Reserves and finally in Division 7 Exmouth Town U 25s lost to Cranbrook Utd by 3 goals to 0 and Exe Utd went down 6-2 at South Zeal Second Eleven with Axmouth Utd being knocked out of the Geary Cup 5-2 by Topsham Town Third Eleven at Roman Road.
