Round up of this weekend's football results
In local football on Saturday Exmouth Town eased through to the next round of the FA Trophy with a comprehensive 4-1 victory over visitors Kidlington FC at Southern Road. After falling behind to an early goal Town took charge and 2 goals from Ben Griffith before the break and another brace from Tom Bath in the second half saw them comfortably through to the second round.
In the Peninsula League East Sidmouth Town lost their unbeaten record going down 2-0 at Newton Abbot Spurs, Cullompton Rangers move back to the top of the table with a 2-1 victory at new boys Middlezoy Rovers, Honiton Town were held to a one all draw at Dorset side Bridport FC, Axminster Town had a much needed 4-3 win over visitors Torrington FC at Tigers Way while Bovey Tracey were beaten 3-2 in North Devon by Torridgeside FC at Donnicroft.
In the A&S Devon League Beer Albion lost 3-1 in Plymouth to University side Marjons, Ottery St Mary convincingly beat North Molton SC away, league leaders Alphington thrashed Plymstock Utd 5-1 at Dean Cross Park and Elmore Utd won 5-3 at Ipplepen Athletics Moor Road.
In the Devon and Exeter Leagues, in the Premier Division Colyton FC beat visiting Crediton Utd Reserves 3-2 at the Peace Memorial Ground and Upottery won 4-1 against Feniton at Glebe Park.
In Division One Lympstone Utd beat Newtown Reserves 2-1 at the Marine Camp and East Budleigh thrashed Okehampton Argyle Second Eleven 8-0 at Simmons Park while in Division 2 Exmouth Spartans overwhelmed Seaton Town 7-0 at the Commons Ground and Dawlish Utd had a welcome victory at Beer Albion Second Eleven by 2 goals to 1.
In the Third Division Tipton St John's beat Sidmouth Thirds 7-3 at the Playing Fields while in Division 5 Otterton convincingly won 5-0 over Chagford at their Cricketfield Ground but Ex Dons lost 3-1 at Willand FC.
Finally in Division 7 Exe Utd were beaten 4-1 at North Tawton and Exmouth Towns U23s narrowly lost 3-2 at Phoenix Utd at Magelake Hall.
