In Saturday's local football Exmouth Town completed their first season in the Southern league with a close home defeat at the hands of league runners up Sholing fc from Southampton.
In a even first half a slip in defence gave the visitors a late goal just before the break and then had Karl Riddell sent off for a bad tackle. After the restart things got worse for Towns 10 men and 2 more goals put Sholing 3-0 up but Town never gave up and two late strikes from Aaron Denny and Harry Walford nearly levelled it before time ran out but leaving them safe to fight another season in Southern league football.
In the Peninsula league east Cullompton Rangers lost their last league game beaten 2 0 by Honiton Town at the Memorial ground while Teignmouth afc comfortably won 3-1 at home to Axminster Town.
In the A&S Devon league, leaders Beer Albion lost only their second game of the season beaten 2-1 at Thorverton fc with Budleigh Salterton enjoying a 3-1 victory over second placed North Molton S C at Greenway Lane.
In the Devon and Exeter league premier division Dawlish Utd drew 2 all against Crediton Utd reserves at the leasure centre while in division one East Budleigh lost 1-0 at home to Chard Town second eleven and Lympstone went down 3-1 to Upottery at the Marine Camp.
Finally in division seven Exmouth Rovers played out a scoreless draw with visitors Exeter Royals at the Commons ground but Ex Don's thumped Starcross Don's reserves 10 -0 also at the Commons in division 8 .
