In local football on Saturday in the Southern league one south Exmouth Town once again lost at home to a single goal scored in the first half , this time beaten by visiting Lymington at Southern Road, the winning goal came in the 36 minute and although there were several chances Town were once again found wanting in front of goal .
In the Peninsula league east Teignmouth afc beat visitors Sidmouth Town by 2 goals to 0 at Coombe Valley while in the A&S Devon league Newtown and league leaders Beer Albion played out a 2 all draw but Topsham fc were well beaten 5-1 at Appledore.
In the Devon and Exeter leagues Dawlish Utd also lost by 5 goals to 1 to Sidmouth Town reserves at the leisure centre, in division one Lympstone Utd had a narrow 2-1 victory over visitors Chard second eleven at the Marine Camp and East Budleigh overcame a resilient Newtown reserves 4-2 at Newton st Cyres.
In division 2 Exmouth Spartans had to settle for a 3 all draw with Farway Utd at the Commons ground pitch1 but Tipton st John thrashed visitors Dunkeswell Rovers by 6 goals to 0 at the playing fields.
Finally in division seven Exmouth Rovers overcame Exeter University 8th eleven 2-0 on the Commons ground pitch 2 and Otterton thrashed visitors Priory 6-1 at Stantyway.
