In local cricket on Saturday in the Devon Premier League Exmouth lost ground on their climb up the table after their were surprisingly beaten at the Maer Ground against lowly Bovey Tracey by one wicket but Sidmouth had a convincing 8 wicket victory over visiting Cornwood at the Fortfield Ground while Exeter won at Paignton's Queens Park by 3 wickets.
In the A Division bottom of the league Abbotskerswell beat fellow struggles Tavistock by 5 wickets at home and Torquay/Kingskerswell won by 73 runs at Thorverton
In the B Division Stoke Gabriel won at North Devon side Bideford/Westward Ho, Cullompton had a 106 run away victory over Bovey Tracey Second Eleven at the Recreation Ground, Ipplepen beat visitors Budleigh Salterton by just 13 run's at Moor Road and Teignmouth/ Shaldon had a 62 run victory over league leaders Barton at Hazelwood.
In the C Division East, Ottery St Mary won by 6 wickets at Devon boarder side Uplyme/Lyme Regis while Alphington Countess Wear beat East Devon side Seaton by 26 runs at Court Lane.
Finally in the D Division East joint league leaders Upottery were well beaten by 9 wickets at North Devon, Topsham St James won by 24 runs over visitors Thorverton Second Eleven at the University Sports Centre but Whimple narrowly lost by 8 runs at Shobrooke Park.
