In local cricket on Saturday in the Devon Premier League, Exmouth were well beaten by 9 wickets by champions elect Bradninch/ Kentisbeare at the Maer Ground, Sidmouth surprisingly also lost at home to Bovey Tracey by 139 runs at the Fortfield Ground, Exeter were beaten at the County Ground by Sandford going down by 41 runs but Paignton won by 6 wickets over Cornwood at Queens Park.
In Division A Torquay/Kingskerswell were beaten by 4 wickets at the Recreation Ground by West Devon side Tavistock and bottom of the league Abbotskerswell lost by 5 wickets to Plymouth at Mount Wise.
In the B Division Teignmouth/Shaldon beat Chudleigh by 2 wickets at Hazeldown, league leaders Cullompton won by 24 runs over Clyst St George at the Bohea Field, Budleigh Salterton lost by 124 runs at Bovey Tracey Second Eleven, with second placed Barton beat Stoke Gabriel by 6 wickets at Cricketfield Road.
In Division C East Seaton won by 12 runs against visiting Ottery St Mary at Court Lane and Alphington/Countess Wear beat Sidmouth Seconds at the Chronicles by 5 wickets.
Finally in Division D East league leaders Upottery beat Topsham St James by 47 runs at the University Sports Centre while Clyst Hydon lost to Whimple by 6 wickets at Merryfield.
