Many of our local cricket fixtures were effected by the poor weather over the weekend, here’s a round up of all the results.
In the local Devon Cricket league's on Saturday in the Premier division Exmouth s home game at the Maer ground with Exeter was abandoned due to continuous heavy showers with both sides receiving 9 points, Sidmouth lost in another rain affected game by just 3 runs to Bradninch/Kentisbeare at the Fortfield ground while Paignton were beaten by 2 wickets by Sandford at Queen's Park.
In division A Torquay/Kingskerswell game at Plymstock was abandoned due to the weather but Abbotskerswell lost their home game with west devon side Bridestowe by 5 wickets while in division B Cullompton won by 1 wicket at Ipplepen, Bovey Tracey beat Torquay side Barton by 6 wickets , Teignmouth/Shaldon were thrashed by 9 wickets at home to Stoke Gabriel but Budleigh Salterton s game with Clyst st George at the Bohea was abandoned due to rain .
In the C division East Ottery St Mary were b EU eaten by 32 runs at the County ground by Exeter second eleven, Alphington/Countess Wear lost by 38 runs at north devon side Braunton while Seatons home game with Sidmouth seconds was cancelled due to the weather. Finally in division D east all our local games were postponed or cancelled due to the bad weather.
