Exeter Chiefs Celebrate 2022/23 Triumphs with Open-Top Bus Parade

In what has been another landmark year for the Devon club, supporters will get the chance to celebrate with their favourite team on Sunday, June 25.

Victorious Exeter Chiefs men and women’s players will toast their success of the 2022/23 season with a special open-top bus parade through the heart of the city centre.

In what has been another landmark year for the Devon club, supporters will get the chance to celebrate with their favourite team on Sunday, June 25.

It represents the latest triumphs for the Chiefs, whose men’s side in March defeated London Irish in extra time to lift the Premiership Rugby Cup – and the women’s side who in April made it back-to-back successes in the Allianz Cup and who have also reached a second successive Allianz Premier 15s final.

Members of both the Premiership Rugby Cup winning squad and that of the Allianz Cup winning squad will board two Stagecoach buses that will leave Exeter City's St James’ Park at 2pm, before travelling down Sidwell Street and into the High Street, before arriving at the Guildhall for a Civic Reception hosted by the Lord Mayor of Exeter, Cllr Kevin Mitchell.

It has long been a tradition of the club to mark major milestones with an Open Top Bus parade and the achievements of both squads deserve no less celebration.

Exeter Rugby Club chairman and chief executive, Tony Rowe CBE, said: “It has been another successful year for the club and it’s only fitting that both our men’s and women’s players are honoured in the right way for their efforts.

“We are as ever grateful to the Lord Mayor and Exeter City Council for putting on the parade which, I hope, as many of our supporters will attend. I know from past experience how much the players enjoy occasions such as this and I’ve no doubt it will be another fantastic occasion for the club, our supporters and the city itself.”

Bindu Arjoon, Exeter City Council’s Chief Executive added: “We are incredibly proud of what the club has achieved and I know the Lord Mayor is looking forward to giving them a warm welcome. It is a remarkable achievement. We’d love it if people came along to cheer on the players.”
