Following a meeting on the 19th May, Budleigh Salterton Football Club accepted the resignation of 1st Team manager Dan Carthew.

Budleigh Salterton AFC would like to thank Dan for all of his efforts at the club, having also been Ladies 1st Team manager.

And now a new manager is wanted at the club with real potential.

Like all clubs, the Robins have struggled to find consistency over the past two Covid-curtailed campaigns but the hope is that the new appointment will have the chance to build some momentum at Greenway Lane.

“Unfortunately, due to work commitments, Dan has stepped down from the role as Budleigh Salterton manager,” said chairman Matt Hughes. “He has changed jobs and sadly won’t have the time to fully commit.
“Dan has been at the club for a few years, enjoyed a successful time as manager of the ladies and that saw him move on to the role as first-team manager for the men’s team.
“Covid, unfortunately, meant that Dan never really had the chance to get going and I’m sure he will be disappointed not to have had that full football season.”

The Budleigh job represents a fantastic football opportunity for the new manager to build a new chapter at a club blessed with fabulous facilities and a rich history.

“We’ve put out an advert and I’m looking for interested parties to make themselves known via bsafc.chairman@gmail.com,” said Hughes.
“I’ve already had contact from a number of people and it will be a case of finding the right fit for the football club to continue developing players.

“Over the lockdown period, we were fortunate to have the backing of the local council to upgrade our floodlights and the pitch is also looking lovely.

“We’ve been doing lots of work around the ground and it is a wonderful starting point. We’ve got a good group of talented young players, with some experience in there as well.

“I’m looking for an ambitious manager to take a club like Budleigh to the next level.

We have got history at the club and, while we have not been as successful in recent years, Budleigh is steeped in tradition and our facilities for the local area are second to none.
