The proposed development site is being considered for a residential-led project that includes not only new homes but also employment space and areas for nature, all designed to meet the current and future needs of Exmouth.
A public consultation has been announced to discuss initial proposals for land to the south of Salterton Road, opposite Liverton Business Park, which forms part of the emerging East Devon District Council Local Plan under the draft allocation Exmo_17. The proposed development site is being considered for a residential-led project that includes not only new homes but also employment space and areas for nature, all designed to meet the current and future needs of Exmouth.
Bloor Homes, a top HBF 5* rated housebuilder, is working closely with Clinton Devon Estates, the landowner, to bring forward these proposals. The aim is to create a carefully designed development that will positively contribute to the area’s growth while maintaining a balance with nature and providing facilities to support the local community.
A key part of this process is to engage with the local community and hear their views. As such, a public exhibition will be held at Bidmead Community Centre, located at 41 Littleham Road, Exmouth, EX8 2QJ, on Thursday, 6th March 2025. The exhibition will run from 11 am to 8 pm, and members of the public are invited to drop in at any time during these hours to view the proposals, ask questions, and provide feedback. This consultation event will be publicised further over the coming weeks to ensure that as many people as possible are aware and able to take part.
The proposals include not only housing but also a mix of employment spaces to support local jobs, along with green areas to promote sustainability and biodiversity. The development will aim to meet Exmouth’s housing needs while enhancing the local environment, with plans for green spaces that encourage both recreation and wildlife.
This consultation forms an important part of the planning process, and the views of local residents, businesses, and other stakeholders will play a crucial role in shaping the final development proposals. Feedback from the public will help guide the planning application process and ensure the final development meets the needs and expectations of the local community.
If you are unable to attend the exhibition in person or have any questions ahead of the event, you can contact the project team by emailing enquiries@landatlittleham.co.uk or calling 01395 542152. Phone lines are open Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm. Further information will be made available in the coming weeks as the consultation date approaches.
