
A crowdfunding appeal has been launched by the Poltimore House trust following this weeks devastating fire.
The Poltimore House Trust has expressed unwavering determination to restore the historic house following extensive fire damage believed to be caused by arson. The funds raised will primarily focus on addressing the aftermath of the fire and ensuring the safety and accessibility of the site before restoration efforts can resume.
The police are actively investigating the suspected arson incident that occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Two individuals, aged 14 and 16, have been arrested and released on bail in connection with the incident. As of April 12, a sum of £4,919 has been raised out of a £100,000 target, with 158 donors contributing to the cause. The crowdfunding appeal will remain open for another 54 days.
In light of the damage, the small coffee shop housed within the premises, situated in the old chapel, will remain closed for the next three weeks pending safety assessments. Branches Cafe aims to reopen on May 4, 5, and 6, expressing determination to bounce back despite the setback.
