The roads now subject to the 20 MPH limit include Abbott Close, Barrack Road, Barrel Close, Batts Lane, Beauvale Close, Bridgefield, Broad Street, Brook Street, Brookdale, Butts Road, Cadhay Close, Cadhay Lane, Canaan Way, Chapel Lane, Chineway Gardens, Chineway Road, Clapps Lane, Claremont Field, Coleberd Close, Coleridge Road, Cornhill, Elliot Close, Exeter Road, Ferguson Close, Franklea Close, Furzebrook, Gerway Close, Godfrey Close, Gold Street, Grandisson Drive, Hansford Way, Harold Close, Henry Gardens, Higher Ridgeway, Higher Spring Gardens, Hillcrest, Hind Street, Homefield Close, Jesu Street, Keegan Close, Kennaway Road, Kings Avenue, Longdogs Lane, Meadow Close, Mill Stream Court, Mill Street, Millcroft, Mossop Close, New Lane, New Street, North Street, Orchard Close, Paternoster Row, Patteson Drive, Pavey Run, Plume of Feathers Close, Raleigh Road, Richard Close, Ridgeway, Ridgeway Gardens, Riverside View, Road from Kings School Cross to Salston Corner, Road from Pitt Farm to Hind Street, Road from Slade Road to Slade Close, Road from Tip Hill to Gerway Lane, Sandhill Street, Silver Street, Slade Close, Slade Road, Spring Gardens, St Anthony’s Close, St Budeaux Close, St Mary’s Park, St Saviours Road, Strawberry Lane, Sunnyhill, Taylor Close, Thackeray Close, The College, The Flexton, Thorne Farm Way, Tip Hill, Tumbling Weir Way, Washbrook View, West Hill Road, William Close, Windrush Rise, Winters Lane, and Yonder Street.

Ottery St Mary was chosen, along with seven other communities, for a trial of the 20 MPH scheme, which was announced by Devon County Council in May 2023. The initiative is designed to enhance safety for residents and pedestrians while aiming to reduce the risk of accidents.
