Lord Clinton, the esteemed owner of Clinton Devon Estates, has sadly passed away in East Devon aged 89.
Born Gerard Fane in 1934, he became the 22nd Baron Clinton in 1965, taking on responsibility for 25,000 acres across three estates in North and East Devon, known collectively as Clinton Devon Estates.
Lord Clinton was a beloved figure in East Devon, known for his dedication to preserving the natural beauty of the region. As the owner of Clinton Devon Estates, he was responsible for managing over 25,000 acres of land, including farms, woodlands, and picturesque countryside.
He was a true steward of the land, always striving to balance the needs of agriculture with the conservation of the environment. His efforts were widely recognized and admired, earning him the respect and admiration of all who knew him.
Lord Clinton was also a philanthropist, supporting numerous charitable causes in the local area. He was known for his generosity and willingness to help those in need, making a positive impact on the lives of many.
His passing is a great loss to the community and his family. He will be remembered for his kindness, his dedication to the land, and his unwavering commitment to making the world a better place. He leaves his wife, Nicola, always known as Nicky, and three children, the Hon Charles Patrick Rolle Fane Trefusis, who will succeed him, and daughters Caroline and Henrietta.
