Exmouth Town Council is urging local residents to attend a special drop-in event to learn more about the Exmouth Beach Management Plan & provide valuable feedback on its future direction. The event, open to all, will be held at Ocean in Exmouth on Wednesday, 30th January 2025, from 2 til 6pm.

Exmouth Town Council is urging local residents to attend a special drop-in event to learn more about the Exmouth Beach Management Plan (BMP) and provide valuable feedback on its future direction. The event, open to all, will be held at Ocean in Exmouth on Wednesday, 30th January 2025, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

The Beach Management Plan is a crucial initiative aimed at safeguarding Exmouth’s iconic seafront for generations to come. At the event, attendees will have the chance to hear directly from representatives of the BMP project team, who will present three proposed options designed to ensure the long-term protection and sustainability of the coastline.

Visitors will be guided to the event suite via clear signs and arrows upon entering the venue. The drop-in format ensures residents can attend at their convenience during the four-hour window, providing ample time for discussions, questions, and input.

Exmouth’s seafront is a vital part of the town’s identity, serving as both a natural habitat and a hub for recreation, tourism, and the local economy. With the increasing challenges posed by coastal erosion, climate change, and rising sea levels, the BMP is an essential step toward maintaining and protecting this treasured asset.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for residents to learn more about the challenges facing Exmouth’s coastline and to have their say in shaping its future,” a Town Council spokesperson said. “Your input is vital to ensuring that the chosen approach reflects the needs and aspirations of the community.”

The Council is keen to emphasize the importance of community involvement in the decision-making process. The three proposed options will address key concerns such as flood protection, erosion control, and preserving beach accessibility. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions, share their views, and help shape a plan that balances environmental, social, and economic priorities.

Whether you’re a long-time resident, a business owner, or simply someone who loves Exmouth’s stunning coastline, this event is an invaluable opportunity to contribute to a project that will impact the town’s future for decades to come.

Mark your calendars and don’t miss this chance to make your voice heard!
