People in Exeter are being invited to contribute their memories from the Covid-19 pandemic as part of an online audiobook.
The initiative is being put together by the University of Exeter, in collaboration with Exeter City Council and the Mayoralty.
The idea behind the project is for shared reflection on the very diverse experiences of the pandemic in Exeter as the fifth anniversary of the event’s beginning approaches.
It may be a memory of lockdown, social distancing, illness, bereavement, community responses, or the acts of NHS staff and keyworkers.
People might want to refer to general recollections or one very specific moment. The passage of text should begin with the words ‘I remember…’ and be no more than 50 words in length.
If referring to someone, only first names should be included. No personal details are recorded – participation is entirely anonymous. The deadline for submissions is 31 January.
Short written memories can be added via the following link https://forms.office.com/e/4wuNrqDmSQ
Please email Professor David Tollerton at d.c.tollerton@exeter.ac.uk for any further information. The initiative is linked to a public memorial event being developed by the Mayoralty, which will be taking place in Northernhay Gardens on Sunday 23 March at 10.30am. More details will follow.
