Young people with Special Educational Need’s and Disabilities (SEND) from across the Network for Change have joined Devon’s Youth Council and have been representing their peers in wider youth voice work across the county.
Including running assemblies to explain the Make your Mark Youth vote to other students.
One of the young people joined a panel to speak at the Pillar Four Voice of the Child Conference. They spoke about experiences where they had felt listened to and gave some advice to practitioners on how to listen in a meaningful and supportive way.
The Network for Change member talked proudly about his experience of delivering assemblies in his school this week and how it has given him so much of a confidence boost that he felt very relaxed about speaking to a conference of 200 attendees!
