Through a newly launched digital skills programme over 440 spaces are available.
Designed to support the key growth sectors of creative industries and clean growth as well as the region’s bedrock sectors of health and adult social care, hospitality and tourism The Core Sector Digital Training is available to unemployed residents in Devon, Plymouth, Somerset and Torbay or those who want to are employed but want to upskill or are considering a career change.
It is also available to those who work for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Devon, Plymouth, Somerset and Torbay with less than 250 employees.
The initiative is led by Devon County Council and delivered by Cosmic and is part of the Heart of the South West local growth deal funded Digital Skills Series supported by the Heart of the South West LEP and UK Government.
Councillor Rufus Gilbert, Cabinet Member for Economic Recovery and Skills, said: “Digital skills are vital for a healthy economy and this new programme ensures the right training is in place to support our region’s main business sectors.
"We want people to have the opportunity to learn new skills or improve on their existing digital skills to boost their job prospects and make sure that local businesses have the skilled workforce they need."
